Raising Rabbits seminar

In depth information on breeding and raising rabbits for show stock, pets, breeding stock, meat or fiber. We have a variety of breeds on the farm:  Angoras, Silver Fox, Rex and crossbreeds. 

Topics we will touch on -

  • How to market your rabbits for sale
  • How to tan hides
  • Breeding
  • Natural feeding
  • Colony raising
  • Tips on butchering (but no actual butchering in this class)
  • Tips on cooking and some interesting recipes
  • Grooming your rabbit (brushing and nail trimming and fiber harvesting)
  • Health care of rabbits
  • Housing
  • Vermiculture (raising worms) with rabbits
  • Identifying genders

And whatever else we can think of! 

Class length will be about 3-4 hours.  We will offer each group of registered attendees a 50% off coupon for ONE rabbit and 10% off any additional rabbits purchased at the same time.  Coupon can be used on any rabbit we offer for sale and will be valid for 6 months after your class. 


$ 25 per adult person (17+) with preregistration (contact us for forms) or $32 at the gate

$ 5 per child under 17 with preregistration or $8 at the gate

Supervised children under 5 are free

Discounts-10% multi-class can be applied to this seminar

Dress Code Recommendations:

Since we would like you  and your children to be able to hold rabbits and participate in basic grooming and health checks, we would recommend wearing a shirt without a low neckline, and long sleeves if weather permits.
