Well, okay my house is actually clean. I'm finding I like routine as much as the farm animals do.
We however did add pigs to our homestead. Greg and I decided to pick up a couple of feeder pigs. We purchased two gilts (a Yorkshire/Old spot cross). As some of you very close to me may know - I have a somewhat irrational fear of large pigs. Fortunately for Roto and Tiller (well fortunately for ME), they are pretty small yet at 11-12 weeks old. Towards the end of apple and tomato season I was running low on jars and the will to continue canning. So to save both dishes and time, I decided to pull out the dehydrator. I ended up drying 6 quarts of apples (would have been at least triple that had I canned them in syrup). I have yet to try them in a pie or crisp, but will be sure to let you know how they turn out. I will say that I definately like them as a nice snack. I love to eat vegetables, but tend to be less inclined to eat fruits....

The goats are growing like weeds. We finally castrated SunFire, poor little guy. Amazingly he is still a very friendly goat. He will be filling the gaps in our freezer soon, unless he finds a nice pet home. I think he is going to be a nice, big fancy looking fellow. I would love to see him trained to a cart, what a statement he would make in a parade!!
